No printing after Fall Creators Update version 1709Since my PC was upgraded to version 1709 of Windows 10 (64 bit) I have been unable to print to my HP Envy 5644 printer. On the advice of suggestions from the HP forums I have performed mutliple un-installs and re-installs of the driver / printer softwarewithout any solution. I have seen a number of other posts to forums such as these with the same or similar problems but no proper solutions.The symptoms are that my print appears in the print queue for a few seconds, but then disappears with no printing and no error messages suggesting what the problem is. After some digging I have determined that every printing does generate an error event- In the event viewer in path 'Applications and Services logs - Microsoft - Windows - Printservice - Admin' an error withevent ID 372 is generated each time printing is attempted with the message:The document Print Document, owned by Malcolm, failed to print on printer HP ENVY 5640 series. Try to print the document again, or restart the print spooler.Data type: RAW. Size of the spool file in bytes: 236344.

Number of bytes printed: 236344. Total number of pages in the document: 1. Number of pages printed: 0.

Client computer: WIN10. Win32 error code returned by the print processor:. UnspecifiederrorI have been unable to find any useful information on the Win32 error code 214500037.Any help gratefully received.

I did retry the steps that you had outlined.It is interesting that I was able to temporarily add a different printer and it did work properly so it seems to be isolated to this printer and driver.When running a print test page after following the steps that you had outlined, I did see that there were 2 files that were created in C:Windowssystem32spoolprinters when I attempted to print a test page. FP00001.SHD and FP00001.SPL. They were deletedwhen I canceled the print job.The error event (ID 372) with the same message as above was generated by my attempt to print to this printer.Let me know if you have any additional tests that may help to resolve this issue.Thank you.

I would suggest you to run this troubleshooterto check if there is any issue with the sound. Hi Mike,Sorry for the delay in response. I suspect that the issue might be because of the incompatibility of the drivers. I also see that there is no compatible drivers for Windows 10.

Thanks for the response and I do have an update.I was planning on giving that printer the 'heave ho' but noticed that the last windows update included the following KB.Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3140768)Figuring that there might be a long shot chance that these updates included a driver update or change that could affect the printer configuration, I re-installed the printer and to my surprise it is now working properly.Does this make sense or should I go out and buy a lottery ticket with my new found luck?Thanks.
